The blend of oils sitting in your diffuser is important, but so are the diffuser reeds. After all, without the diffuser reeds, the fragrance molecules will not be dispersed properly into the air. The right pairing of diffuser sticks can make the difference between a beautiful, lingering fragrance and one that barely scents the room.

Based on one piece of 3mm diameter rattan, there are 40-80 tubular hollow within which oils travels up, saturating the reed as it does so. As the rattan reeds absorbing the fragrance oil, an evaporation process occurs, diffusing the scent of the oil into the surrounding space. To get the most out of the reeds, allow them to soak for at least half an hour upon first use, then flip them upside down, immersing the other end of the reeds in the oil. The quantity of the reeds used depends on the size of the room; 6 - 8 reeds is typically sufficient for a small room.
