If you want to make your own brand of reed diffuser, a good place to start is too choose the right reed diffuser bottle. Both for your brand positioning and the essential oil you want to hold within them.

Begin by thinking about the fragrance oil you want to place within it. What is the color of the fragrance oil? Will it look best in a clear glass bottle that will use the color as a feature? Or will it look best in a colored glass bottle to reflect the taste of the person for whom it is intended or the decor of the room where it will be placed?

The capacity of the reed diffuser bottle chosen will also depend on the position where it is to be place. If you put it in bathroom, you can choose 100ml, 150ml reed diffuser bottle. If you put the reed diffuser in bedroom you can choose 200ml, 250ml reed diffuser bottle. If you put the reed diffuser in living room you can choose 300ml, 500ml big capacity bottle. The diffusion of a scent depends on humidity, the light (try to avoid direct sunlight), cooling or heating system.

Here is the chart how long your reed diffuser will last:

100ml diffuser with sticks: last 1 month

250ml diffuser with sticks: last 2−3 months

500ml diffuser with sticks: last 4−5 months

Another thing to consider is whether a decorated reed diffuser bottle would be a suitable container for the type of fragrance you choose. Ceramic bottles are also popular as reed diffuser. If you choose this type, make sure the inside and outside of the bottle are glazed to prevent oil from soaking into the ceramic material of the bottle.

Finally, the neck of the reed diffuser bottle needs to be small enough to ensure that aromas in the oil are carried to the reeds and diffused from those reeds, rather than being evaporated from the neck of the bottle. You need to be sure though that the neck opening is wide enough to allow the reeds to be displayed attractively in the bottle without bunching up.
